The Big Island of Hawaii is the largest and southernmost island of the state of Hawaii. It has an area of 4,028 square miles and is larger than all the other Hawaiian Islands combined with a population that exceeds 160 thousand. Most of the Big Island of Hawaii economy is based on tourism with agriculture contributes greatly with the growing of Macadamia nuts, papayas, vegetables, coffee and flowers, and with their orchids being some of the finest in the world.
There are so many fun things to do on the Big Island. Some of the more popular activities include helicopter tours, snorkeling, ocean rafting, submarine rides, surfing lessons, hiking, kayaking and so much more. There really is no end to all the fun you can have. Kona also has some of the best deep sea fishing in the World, they hold the world record for the largest Blue Marlin ever caught at 1376 pounds.
